Treeboard Founder Is Quoted in The Wall Street Journal

21st Oct 2025

Treeboard founder Will Mauldin was quoted in a page one story in The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday discussing the Internet outage triggered by the problems with Amazon's cloud services.

In the piece by Robert McMillan, titled, "The Day Amazon Broke the Internet for Millions of Americans," Will explained how Treeboard was able to keep making sales even though the ecommerce company's shipping software ground to a halt and some company emails were affected--including the ones that send the all-important coupons to customers.

"I had no idea that the loss of one web cloud service would chip away at my small business and give me a Monday morning from hell," Will told the Journal in the article.

Among other publications, the woodworking company has been mentioned by name by The Guardian, which has recommended Treeboard's cutting boards twice over the years.
