This board comes straight from the recommendations of customers who wanted a unique, smaller board. This white oak model is just 8 inches by 10 inches, or room enough for serving cheese or your favorite appetizers—ideal for anything that needs cutting up. White oak has classic beauty, hardness approaching that of hard maple and famed rot resistance, leading to its use in wine and bourbon barrels and the hulls of sailing ships. Unlike other beautifully grained woods (including red oak), the pores on white oak seal up when the wood is dried, making white oak perfect for your kitchen.
While some competitors use lumber scraps glued together, we cut our boards form solid pieces of wood right in our Maryland workshop. We have our sustainable sourced lumber flattened and sanded in an Mennonite-run planing mill before putting the finishing touches on by hand--including organic raw linseed oil and our own board balm.
Your board is guaranteed against flaws in workmanship, design, etc. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions, including about different shapes or sizes. Check back often because we often have limited quantities, different sizes and new products online. But don't hesitate to pick up one of these while we have wood available. (If you want a somewhat different size, just send us the dimensions in the order notes.)
Shipping is typcially via UPS. For our international visitors, please add this cutting board to your cart and type in an address to see your shipping cost. If you have questions or want us to look for a better shipping rate, please send us a message.
