Our small hard maple cutting board is an elegant block of the forest that's perfect for serving and cutting cheese or charcuterie. Hard maple, also known as rock maple or sugar maple, is widely considered to be the best North American wood for cutting boards, since the grain is hard and fine, resisting gouges and the absorption of liquids or food scraps.

These baby-sized, nearly inch-and-a-half thick boards measure about 10 inches by 8 inches on the cutting surface. While some competitors use lumber scraps glued together, we cut our boards form solid slabs of wood right in our Maryland workshops. Our hard maple comes from a sustainably certified mill that dries the lumber in western Pennsylvania, or from a similar mill in New England. The lumber is flattened and sanded before we trim and put the finishing touches on by hand--including organic raw linseed oil and our own board balm, an organic mixture of plant-based carnauba wax and linseed oil.

For more on hard maple, check out our description of the wood, or for more on what makes a great cutting board, please check out our blog.

Your board is guaranteed against flaws in workmanship, design, etc. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions, including about different shapes or sizes. Check back often because we often have limited quantities, different sizes and new products online. The dimensions listed above are approximate, so please let us know in the order notes if you have a maximum, minimum or exact size requirements. And don't hesitate to pick up one of these while we have wood available.

Shipping is usually via UPS for U.S. customers. For our international visitors, please add this cutting board to your cart and type in an address to see your shipping cost. If you have questions or want us to look for a better shipping rate, please send us a message.
