Solid wild black cherry wood is one of the finest things growing in our part of the world, and our supplier has given us a treat: a "gummy" figured grain that has dark strips of natural resin setting off the grain. Like all cherry, your board will turn a deeper red over time when exposed to ambient light.
While some competitors use lumber scraps glued together, we cut our boards form solid pieces of wood right in our Maryland workshop. After our cherry is cut in the region and kiln-dried in Pennsylvania, we cut and plane it before putting the finishing touches on by hand--including organic raw linseed oil and our own board balm.
Your board is guaranteed against flaws in workmanship, design, etc. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions. The oak boards are thinner on average than our other boards (less than 1").
