A stunning block of hard maple with both bird's-eye figure and eye-catching heartwood, all in one piece of wood. We only have two boards like this and are offering these in the same category of figured wood as our previous curly boards. (This wood grain isn't curly but has the rare bird's-eye figure seen in fine antique furniture.) Probably this board is too fancy for most people to chop on, so many would use it for serving charcuterie or cutting cheese or other soft products.
Unlike competitors' pretty goards, this one is one solid block of maple and so will last for many years with proper care--all you need is to apply board balm and maybe sand the surace if it's ever gouged or damaged.
Note: This is a similar product to our regular large maple cutting board (they all measure about 23 inches by 12 inches by nearly two inches thick), only these have an intricately figured grain that's the finest we've seen in two years. The photos are of the first board, which will be provided to the first buyer, but the second board is very similar, almost identical.
