We're Here for Our Canadian Customers
3rd Feb 2025
Washington's tariff announcement has triggered economic conflict with Ottawa and the prospect of more taxes and other barriers that will punish businesses and consumers on both sides of the border.
At Treeboard we want our customers to know that we will to our best to serve them, whether they're in California or Ontario or the United Arab Emirates. Our sustainable lumber is harvested from North American forests and trees that don't vary much between Pennsylvania and Quebec. As sugaring season approaches, our sugar maple lumber will keep flowing from our supplier in Pennsylvania, and we'll continue to ship to customers in British Columbia and around the world.
For months Treeboard has used a special international shipping service that bridges the gap between the U.S. Postal Service and Canada Post, and we pay the provincial border taxes when necessary so that you don't have to. In the past we have paid tariffs on Chinese metal products, but so far we don't know of any new duties on our cutting boards or other products arising in recent days. Having weathered the postal workers strike in Canada during the busy holiday season, we are ready for new challenges and will do our best to keep prices and shipping costs low—and service levels high—during any trade war.
