Treeboard LLC is hiring a part-time woodworker to help make our internationally popular, 100% natural cutting boards and other wooden products in Spencerville, Maryland. This job involves cutting, shaping and sanding hardwood with power tools and by hand. Products are then finished with all-natural oils and waxes. The employee will also work in preparing the cutting boards and other products for shipping, including by wrapping and packing them into boxes, and helping to clean up and improve the job site is also part of the job.
As our company grows, this job may become full time, and talented applicants may have opportunities for higher pay and advancement opportunities into customer service and administration.
Currently, the woodworking is done in a temporary tent structure in Spencerville, Md., until we build a workshop, which is expected by the end of the year.
The successful applicant for this job will be someone who fits naturally and enthusiastically into our family business, where we admire friendliness, attention to detail, and respect for all of those around us. Prior experience in carpentry or woodworking is preferred but not required, as long as the applicant is good at working with his/her hands.
Hours: 20 hours per week
Start date: as soon as possible.
Language skills: Fluent English is not required, but the applicant should have some ability to communicate with the owner.
Salary: $20 per hour to start, with higher pay negotiable for qualified woodworkers or carpenters
